areas. If an area of the application does not apply, please indicate by

Park Attendants supervise all evening and weekend activities held at
Northville Parks & Recreation outdoor facilities April 1 – November 1,
and perform minor park maintenance tasks.

RECREATION PROGRAM SPECIALIST
ADULT ENRICHMENT/SENIOR SERVICES (part-time 30 hours per week)
Since 1986, the Parks and Recreation Department has provided senior
citizen programs and services to the residents of the City of
Northville, the Charter Township of Northville and the Northville Public
School District. Approximately 36,000 residents live within the
Northville community service area. As the population of the Northville
community begins to age, Northville residents remain active and engaged
in healthy lifestyle options that promote wellness, create a sense of
community and desire for lifelong learning. Adult Enrichment programs
and services offered by the Parks and Recreation Department include
lectures, social activities, trips, and volunteer opportunities. Due to
reduced budget allocations, the position will coordinate both areas of
programming.

Girls Lacrosse Coordinator (part time, seasonal)
Job Summary: Plan, organize and implement the girls lacrosse program
offered by Northville Parks and Recreation. Specific work tasks include
selecting the activity dates, reserving the program facilities,
advertising the program, hiring coaches and game officials, preparing
league standings, purchasing the supplies and attending games on a
periodic basis.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the game of lacrosse and its rules –playing experience
preferred
- High School diploma
- Knowledge of athletic league
structure in order to organize game play
- Skill in organizing
activities so that tasks are planned well in advance and are well
thought out
- Computer literacy including use of Microsoft Office
products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Friendly, helpful, confident attitude and genuinely enjoys working with
people.
Rate of Pay: $10.00 per hour – annual pay will average $500 - $1500
Work Hours: 10 – 15 hours weekly on average. Hours will vary between
day, evening and weekends with the busiest period of January through
June.

Aquatic
Positions
Lifeguard - available to work days, evenings and weekends. Must
have current American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR-PR Certifications. Must
be 15 years of age or older. Starting wage is $7/hour with current
lifeguard & CPR-PR certifications.
Substitute Water Fitness Instructor - available to work evenings and
weekends. Position requires an experienced, well-trained professional to
teach a wide range of classes.
Swim Instructor - available to work days, evenings and weekends.
Position will be teaching all swimming abilities, group and private
lessons. Water Safety Instructor certification or 6 months
teaching experience is preferred.
Head Lifeguard - available to work days, evenings and weekends.
Must be 18 years of age. Must have current American Red Cross
Lifeguard, CPR-PR & Water Safety instructor Certifications. Must
show good leadership skills & prefer previous headguard/manager
experience.
